LabSTAF HB is the high-biomass iteration of LabSTAF, our next-generation, intuitive Single Turnover Active Fluorometry (STAF) based system for evaluating phytoplankton primary productivity (PhytoPP).
With a high dynamic range, LabSTAF HB allows for measurements from extreme oligotrophic to mesotrophic, and even some eutrophic conditions. Using Single Turnover Active Fluorescence (STAF) to measure variable fluorescence of living phytoplankton cells enables the evaluation of primary productivity of phytoplankton (PhytoPP).
LabSTAF HB is designed to enable and sustain high biomass applications such as industrial algae production. Understanding the scale and health of phytoplankton requires accurate and efficient in-situ sampling and measurement to optimise harvest, gauge culture performance, early identification of contamination, and monitor pond cultures.
