Calibration Technician

Chelsea Technologies is a market leading environmental sensor design & manufacturing company working in a variety of industry sectors, including Naval Defence, Maritime & Marine Science & Technology. We are recruiting for a Calibration Technician.

The role:

Calibration

  • Calibration of sensors following standard operating procedures
  • Maintain quality standards of calibration procedures and calibrated sensors
  • Ensure calibration procedures are kept up to date
  • Produce and maintain calibration reports
  • Support the development of new calibration procedures for new sensors
  • Support the development of calibration tests and experiments with new and existing sensors

Production

  • Inspect/triage returned sensors to identify any issues that require repair prior to service/calibration
  • Produce and maintain triage and inspection reports
  • Carry out testing (including pressure testing) of sensors and assemblies according to test specification

General  

  • Maintain laboratories (stock levels, hygiene etc.) ensuring they meets current standards
  • Maintain COSHH paperwork
  • Support new and existing research and development projects within the company
  • Completing working order operations to delivery time and date specified on the work order.
  • To understand and follow all Department administrative procedures including supporting documentation i.e. test results, calibration certificates etc
  • To understand and use Company IT resources i.e. Intranet, MRP system etc in support of day-today activities such as parts enquires, stock searches etc.

Qualifications

  • HNC Electronics or equivalent qualification in an electronic discipline, or science based qualification/degree
  • Competent in the use of various testing tools, i.e. Scopes, DVM’s, Power Supplies etc
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word

Skills and experience – Industry experience would be useful. Practical laboratory skills, including standard solution preparation, pipetting and maintaining laboratory apparatus is essential. The candidate must be able to work methodically and keep good records. Numerical articulate with  ability to write reports as required.

Security Clearance
Security clearance will be applied for on appointment – UK passport holders required plus proof of residency in UK for last 5 years.
