Another year, another successful cruise!

Chelsea's LabSTAF system is revolutionising the way we measure phytoplankton primary productivity in the ocean by enabling scientists to make accurate measurements on a meaningful scale.

At Chelsea Technologies, we’re incredibly proud of the impact our technology has on global ocean research.

Our LabSTAF system is revolutionising the way we measure phytoplankton primary productivity in the ocean by enabling scientists to make accurate measurements on a meaningful scale.

Here is Dr Nina Schuback from the Swiss Polar Institute with 6 LabSTAFs on board RRS Discovery during the recent nPOP cruise (new Perspectives on Ocean Photosynthesis). The LabSTAF provided essential, high-frequency measurements to further our understanding of the factors affecting phytoplankton primary productivity.

What is LabSTAF?  Its the next generation of STAF-based instrumentation to evaluate phytoplankton primary productivity. The system incorporates unparalleled sensitivity with a wide dynamic range, allowing for measurements in all environments: from reservoirs and lakes to open ocean.
