Turbidity Monitoring

The monitoring of turbidity is a key requirement of the water industry in both the water supply and water recovery systems.  Within the water supply process, monitoring of turbidity allows operators to assess the efficiency of filters for particulate removal through the process.  Similarly, with water recovery (Waste Water Treatment Works), the measurement of turbidity is also a key parameter to track the removal of particulates through the process.

Both the UniLux and TriLux sensors are designed to make turbidity measurements. For applications requiring turbidity measurements compliant to ISO07027:1999, CTG now offers the new TurbiLux Nephelometer. The Lux range of turbidity sensors can be deployed in a wide range of applications including flow-through systems for process monitoring and in-situ deployments in rivers, lakes and oceans.

Products to choose from:

TurbiLux Turbidity Sensor - IR turbidity sensor - Sensitive, low cost digital IR turbidity sensor TurbiLux Station enables in-line, real-time, reporting of Turbidity within Waste Water Treatment Plants, water processing plants and natural water systems. Two alternative sensors are available for use within the Turbidity-Station, one based on back-scatter (UniLux) and one based on 90o scatter (TurbiLux).  The TurbiLux provides turbidity measurements compliant to ISO07027:1999.  Monitoring of turbidity allows operators to assess particulate removal through the Waste Water treatment process.

Applications include:

  • Turbidity, particle studies/gravimetric analysis
  • Process control (industrial feed meter indicators)
  • Reservoir monitoring
  • Profiling on CTDs
  • Coastal pollution monitoring
  • Biogeochemical oceanography
  • Environmental impact assessment
  • Waste/recycled water quality monitoring
  • Effluent detection
  • Towed, moored or ROV deployments

UniLux Turbidity Sensor - miniature multi-wavelength fluorometer available to monitor turbidity as well as chlorophyll a, phycoerythrin cyanobacteria, phycocyanin cyanobacteria, fluoroscein, rhodamine WTUniLux Turbidity Sensor: Low cost miniature multi-wavelength fluorometer available to monitor turbidity as well as chlorophyll a, phycoerythrin cyanobacteria, phycocyanin cyanobacteria, fluoroscein or rhodamine WT. The UniLux is extremely sensitive and gives absolute values. This improves plant efficiency by providing stability and continuity to the treatment process. Continuous On-Line Monitoring reduces the need for time-consuming laboratory analysis and removes operator dependancy from the measurement.
