BACTEST Ltd partners with Chelsea Technologies Group to add a test for phytoplankton to the new Speedy Breedy SeaSure® treated ballast water compliancy monitor.

“Chelsea Technologies Group (CTG) is a leading innovator in the field of ballast water compliancy monitoring,” said Stephanie Lavelle, CTG’s Maritime Manager. “Our portable and ultra-sensitive ballast water compliance monitor, FastBallast, is able to rapidly test phytoplankton concentrations at the D2 (10 to 50 µm) regulatory limit with the same degree of accuracy as shore based analyses, but in any water type and at the time of discharge. We are delighted to partnered with BACTEST in the launch of their new Speedy Breedy SeaSure®.”

SenseOCEAN - CTG attended SenseOCEAN EU project review meeting in Kiel

The sensors were deployed from the quayside and on a research vessel, RV The Littorina. This was the first time that the sensors were incorporated onto the common communications interface developed under SenseOCEAN and led by CTG, which is a major step towards developing the integrated multi sensor suite.

CTG’s Dr John Attridge & Dr Cathy Rushworth Curran were at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Kiel last week to test & integrate the sensors developed under the SenseOCEAN EU FP7-funded project.  The sensors were deployed from the quayside and from the research vessel,  Littorina.
